i am thrilled about the new place, and about most of today.

new house has a clawed foot tub! a rainwater cistern with spigot for garden watering! a practice space with good local band history (oh, paper snakes, your time together was too brief.) i will be painting a lot. there's a strawberry patch on the side, berries about a month and a half away!

other today bits: managed to attend part of each collective's meeting-- art collective doing alright, we're gearing up for the big once a year show, i think this may be the first year i don't do an installation-- i have new houseness, ladyfest planning, and a stl/omaha/chicago trip coming up. all ages music space collective meeting-- effing great. all meetings should have vegan kabobs and aged whiskey. also, lease is signed, officially non profit, and i spoke to nick about how i'd like to be very active in helping with the infoshop/distro on the second floor...my zine library will happen soon.

tomorrow is another really really free market, unless of course it rains, and then it's next sunday. david, if you end up coming tomorrow, know i have to leave the market early for passover.

alright. back to packing.

well, my this old houseness comes to an end, at least. i made the magnet room, and the red art gallery, but i'm a renter damn it, and aquiring all the know-how and tools to fix the plumbing and wonkyass wiring isn't going to happen. that, and after a decade of different community living/housing collective ventures, i think i'm ready for small and not getting stuck with the staggering utilties.

i move next week, to a much smaller abode, but this one has good insulation (no more wintersleeping with sleepytime hats and gloves!) a practice space, and a garden. i will force everyone to eat the salsa i will make from the tomatoes and peppers i will grow. i will play no one the ridiculous sounds i will record on the instruments i can't really play. i will encourage many to listen to the sounds bill and our friends will make. i will paint this whole new house even better than the last one, dammit.

magnet room finished today, even with me being under the weather. started cleaning spare bedroom because in a few days spare bedroom = cassidy's room. also read too much anais nin again.

by sunday, hope to have just finished the kitchen sans niki. well, except for the canopy ceiling plan, of course.

ack. i write like a this old house journal.

not drinking as much is making what i have to write about less fun to vicariously live through. poor joe.

stairwell: almost complete. blackwall: complete. collage table: drying. red gallery: 75% done. as soon as i have a working camera again, for a whole day i will take nothing but pictures of my house.
